I’ve been busy campaigning for prayers for those lost or injured in the Colorado Theater shooting and for a young lady named Suehey Santana. Both of these campaigns led me to feel that my friend is as close in me as always and I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to Him. Contrary to popular belief He is not an inanimate object, He’s a teacher, He comforts and He intercedes on our behalf. I love Him so much because He’s always been there for me. Oh yes, I almost forgot, He’s a member of a great team.

The distractors against my friend often call Him an inanimate object. They refer to Acts 2:2 where it says, “Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting”, that He is an inanimate object because of the reference to a wind that came from Heaven. I disagree with this opinion and I know that my friend is a person. In John 14:16-17, Jesus refers to my friend as “Him” or “he” five times. Jesus clearly recognizes that my friend is a person and who are we to claim otherwise.

Two more scriptures that demonstrate that my friend is a person can be found in Romans 8:27 and 1 Corinthians 12:11. Romans 8:27 testifies that my friend has a mind and 1 Corinthians 12:11 adds that He has a will. If my friend has a mind and has a will, than He is a person.

One of the things I love about my friend is that He teaches me what I need to know. Some lessons are difficult to learn but I am thankful for Him being there. John 14:26, Jesus tells us about my friend and how He will “…teach you all things and will remind you of everything I [Jesus] have said to you.” I can testify to this as a fact. Too many times in my life I have found myself thanking my friend for a lesson learned. I wish I could go into them here but that would take up too much space.

Another attribute of my friend is His comforting nature. John 14:16 tells us about my friend and that He is a comforter. When you find yourself going through something but you find that you are not stressed, that’s my friend comforting you. He’s reminding you that you are special and your problem isn’t bigger than the God we serve.

The last attribute I love about my friend is found in Romans 8:26. It says, “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” How can you not love someone that intercedes on your behalf? Even when you don’t know what to ask for my friend knows and He will ask for it on your behalf. You have to love that about Him.

By now I’m sure you already know my friend and yours. He’s on the greatest team of all time. As I noted in 1 + 1 + 1 (The Trinity), He is a equal member of the Godhead. He is equal to God the Father, God the Son and He is God the Holy Spirit. He is here with us, He teaches us, He comforts us and He intercedes for us. We need Him every day. If you don’t know my friend I would be glad to introduce you to Him. I’m sure He would be glad to meet you!
