“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” Isaiah 61:1 NIV
The good news of Christ is freedom. We who are captives in the dysfunctions of life can be set free – - and no longer bound by our own prisons. Our Scripture today gives us all kinds of examples of God’s provision:
•To bind up the brokenhearted
•To proclaim freedom for the captives
•To release prisoners from the darkness
•To comfort all who mourn
•To bestow a crown of beauty instead of ashes
•To give the oil of gladness instead of mourning
• To give a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair
• To be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord
Why, for the display of HIS splendor. Therefore, we no longer need to look at the dark side of life. Because we know that after every storm the sun will smile, for every problem there is a solution, and the soul’s indefensible duty is to be of good cheer. Beloved know today that our glass can be half full when others see it as half empty.
Today’s Action: Take a negative and make it into a positive!
